Sue was born in Binghamton, New York, received a BS in Physical Education from
Cortland State College in New York and a MS
in Exercise Physiology from Kent
State University. Sue transferred to Anchorage in 1986 with
BP Exploration to initiate a corporate health and
fitness program. In 1989 Sue and Rich were married and the next summer Sue made an
attempt on Denali. Rich and sue were avid bikers, hikers, and mountain climbers.
In 1994 Rich lost most of his eyesight due to diabetic retinopathy and shortly
thereafter his kidneys began to fail. December 6, 1995 Rich received the most
awesome gift of a kidney from his brother, Curtis. He regained his health, much
of his eyesight, and his ability to be active again.
Sue currently is a full time physical education teacher at Wasilla High
School in Wasilla Alaska however she spends all of her non-work time working the
30+ sled dogs she owns along with improving No Snow Kennels.
