Took the Happy Trails puppies to Trapper Creek to
finally run on some snow with the sled. Martin has relocated his operation up
there since there is snow to run on. He has 50 dogs staked out on houses around
a little cabin in the middle of nowhere. We staked my 22 out on chains around
the cabin and made them comfortable on beds of straw. First camp out.
Ran most of the dogs two 33 mile runs.
Longest runs they've ever done. Most did extremely well with these long double
runs. I couldn't be more pleased with what we all learned this
weekend. Since there's no sign of snow in the
Big Lake area for the next few days, we're probably heading back to Trapper
Creek this weekend too. Here we are passing Julia, Martin's handler,
who is running the rest of my group. Kaylee getting a "lift". She pooped out on
the second day. Her poor little legs just ran out of gas.
